The power to shape elections lies with young people. Recent surveys have found voters in swing states experience significant anxiety, overwhelm, frustration, anger, disillusionment, and fear about politics and voting.
While there’s value in traditional voter outreach, we need to find new ways to connect with and inspire young voters who, despite registering, often do not actually vote.
Election day, and the early voting period, is an opportunity to bring members of a community together. It’s an opportunity to break through the loneliness, anxiety, and other mental health challenges that young people are facing.
NBA Vote City is a series of major concerts and early voting festivals in Philadelphia, Detroit, and Milwaukee being held together with NBA teams, Live Nation, cities and partners held in late October 2024.
The festivals will be “parties at the polls” engaging new and low propensity voters through the power of music, sport and play to vote early in the 2024 election.
