On August 20 at 11:00 am, PST, CafePress and Rock the Vote will launch the sale of 100 exclusive framed prints created, signed and numbered by Shepard Fairey. This limited edition art was designed by Shepard Fairey exclusively for Rock the Vote in an effort to rally and encourage young people to show their support this election season. CafePress, the leader in user generated political T-Shirts and gifts, and Rock the Vote have come together to make all Rock the Vote merchandise (T-Shirts, prints, stickers, buttons, etc.) available for purchase in an exclusive online shop (www.cafepress.com/rockthevote.com).

Shepard Fairey is one of the world’s most preeminent and influential street artists, graphic designers and illustrators to have emerged from the skateboarding scene.  “I wanted to make art for Rock the Vote because I feel that many young people need to be reminded that voting is a direct and powerful way to express their opinions and shape policy,” Fairey said. “Rock the Vote reaches out to younger voters who often have progressive views, but fail to turn up at the polls.  I wanted to do anything I could to help Rock the Vote encourage a powerful group of potential voters to participate in democracy.”

Shepard Fairey’s exclusive art features vibrant patterns, patriotic colors and emblazons the words, “Empower Yourself: Take Part in Democracy!”  The Frame stands at 26” x 32” and the print measures 18” x 24”, it has been expertly framed by partner Imagekind, and is retail valued at $250.  Once on sale, the exclusive art will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis with a limit of one per customer until all 100 are sold at www.cafepress.com/rockthevote. All proceeds from the sale of this art will go directly to Rock the Vote to support voter registration and get out the vote efforts.

“In these crucial weeks and months leading up to November 4th, it is our responsibility to mobilize people and get them informed and excited about voting.  CafePress helps us extend our message and materials across a vast number of people quickly, efficiently and effectively,” Said Heather Smith, Executive Director, Rock the Vote
